Our methodology

This page explains how The Business Capital Authority is researched, written, and funded. We publish it because a financing resource is only as useful as it is honest about its own workings.

Who publishes this site

The Business Capital Authority is published by Premier Merchant Funding (PMF), a commercial finance brokerage. That affiliation appears on every page of this site, in the header and the footer. We do not present this site as an independent or third-party reviewer, because it is not one.

PMF earns revenue by helping businesses arrange financing. Where a product covered here is one PMF can help place, we say so directly, in a clearly labeled section. We do not present PMF as the only option, and we do not steer readers toward a product that does not fit their situation.

How we handle numbers

Every cost figure, rate range, and qualification threshold on this site is a dated industry reference, drawn from current published sources at the time a guide is written or reviewed. Each guide carries a “reviewed and updated” date. Financing terms move, so a figure should be read as a reference point, never as an offer or a quote. Only a lender or funder term sheet reflects real, current terms for a specific business.

How we decide what to recommend

We do not rank products against each other as if one is universally best. The right financing product depends on a business’s speed of need, cost tolerance, and what it can qualify for. Our guides are built around those three constraints, and every guide includes a plainly worded section on when that product is the wrong choice. If a cheaper or better-fitting product exists for a given situation, we say so — including when that means steering away from a product PMF could otherwise place.

Who writes these guides

Guides are written and reviewed by people who work in commercial finance and arrange these products in practice. Each guide carries a named author with their real role. We do not publish guides under invented experts or anonymous bylines.

What this site is not

Nothing on this site is financial, legal, or tax advice. It is general education. Decisions about financing should be made with advisors who know the specifics of your business.
